Here's a look at what's head for the summer
by Wilson Morales

Seems like every summer starts off with the release of a comic book film and that film ends being one of the top film of the year, and this year is no different. With ‘Horton Hears a Who’ being the only film thus far to reach the $100 million plateau, every that number to be increase when the summer is over. Kicking it off this year is the hotly anticipated film from Marvel Films and Paramount Pictures, ‘Iron Man’. With Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark along with Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow in the film, it should do big numbers at the box office. ‘Iron Man’ isn’t the only comic book film out this year, as ‘The Dark Knight’, the sequel to ‘Batman Begins’ comes out in July and features the last performance by the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Also coming out is a new version of the ‘The Incredible Hulk’ with Edward Norton playing David Banner.

While the guys are out watching plenty of male testosterone films, the women will be getting their groups together and heading over to watch eagerly awaiting ‘Sex and the City: The Movie’ as all of the originals are back as well as adding Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson to the mix. Other films that may be appealing to the same group are ‘Made of Honor’ with Grey’s Anatomy Patrick Dempsey, and ‘What Happens in Vegas’ with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz.

Around the 4th of July, expected Will Smith to be the top dog at the box office since ‘Hancock’ opens around that time and he usually owns that weekend. Giving him some competition with ‘Wanted’ with Angelina Jolie and Morgan, ‘The X-Files: I Want to Believe’, and ‘Hellboy 2: The Golden Army’.

Since the summer also has plenty of films for all ages, there will be plenty of parents saving money to bring the kids to ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’, ‘Speed Racer’, Disney’s Wall*E, and ‘Kung Fu Panda’ with Jack Black.

Expected to be the biggest film of the year is the return of a fan favorite as ‘Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ brings back Harrison Ford, Steven Speilberg, George Lucas and Karen Allen for more adventures.
