-Rick James (Life), musician best known for Super Freak, died August 6 at the age of 56.
-Isabel Sanford (Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner), actress best known as Louise Jefferson on the TV series The Jeffersons, -died July 9 at the age of 86.
-Ray Charles, musician, died June 10 at the age of 73. He performed and acted in many film.
-Paul Winfield, actor best known as the father in Sounder, died March 7 at the age of 62.
-Ron O'Neal (Superfly), a stage and film actor, died Jan. 14 of cancer at age 66.
