Return to the violent criminal underworld with AMERICAN GANGSTER: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON. Golden Globe® winner Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible, Pulp Fiction) returns to narrate the gripping, often tragic and cautionary tales of the brutally ambitious men behind the headlines. AMERICAN GANGSTER: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON examines these men’s lives from humble beginnings to inglorious ends, exposing their deepest secrets and drawing a painstaking portrait using news footage, photographs and first person accounts, along with candid conversations with some of the American Gangsters themselves.
AMERICAN GANGSTER: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON reports on a rogue’s gallery of local legends and national headline makers, including:
· The Philly Black Mafia, the most dangerous crime family in Philadelphia. From the late '60s to the mid '80s, they were the most ruthless and feared mob in Philadelphia's Black underworld.
· Larry Hoover, the brains behind Chicago's largest and most powerful street gang, The Gangster Disciples. After 34 years behind bars, is he a changed man with a vision of hope for his community or, as federal authorities say, still a danger to society?
· "Little Melvin" Williams, the man who brought heroin to Baltimore. He used his genius level I.Q to oversee a drug empire that inspired the hit HBO series "The Wire."
· John Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, the D.C. Snipers. One of the most terrifying and intriguing stories in this series tells how Muhammad methodically trained homeless 17-year old Malvo for a random killing spree that terrorized the nation’s capitol in 2002.
· Frank Lucas, the inspiration for the feature film, American Gangster. Lucas was one of the most successful drug dealers in history, grossing up to $1 million a day—until his empire crumbled and he wound up behind bars.
· Felix Mitchell, Oakland, California's first major heroin kingpin. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he reigned supreme—until he was sent to prison for life.
· Jeff Fort, leader of the Blackstone Rangers. Before the Crips and The Bloods, the Rangers ruled Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood. How did Fort go from rehabilitating young gang members to conspiring to commit acts of domestic terrorism subsidized by Libyan dictator Moammar Khadafy?
· Chaz Williams, one of the most prolific bank robbers in history. After serving a sentence for robbing more than 60 banks, Williams started Black Hand Entertainment and manages recording artist Foxy Brown.
· Rayful Edmond III, Washington D.C.’s, most notorious cocaine and crack dealer. Even after his incarceration, Edmond continued to do business with the powerful Medellin drug cartel from his cell.
· Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, who transformed himself from drug kingpin to movie producer, only to lose everything when he was convicted of putting out hits on two rivals.
