Rashida Jones Lands Lead Role In 'I Love You, Man'

Having appeared in small supporting roles during her film career, Rashida Jones certainly hasn't had the best of luck when exploring and auditioning for something bigger, but when you are on a hit TV show like she is on with NBC's The Office, things beging to get brighter. Not only does she get bigger scripts throw at her, but she's now signed on to do 2 major films.

According to Variety, Rashida Jones has landed the female lead in DreamWorks' comedy "I Love You, Man," opposite Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. "The Office" regular also will co-star in the Renee Zellweger-Harry Connick Jr. starrer "Chilled in Miami" for Gold Circle Films.
John Hamburg directs "I Love You" from a script he wrote about a man about to get married (Rudd) who seeks out a stranger to be his best man for the wedding. Jones will play the fiancee.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in early April.

"Chilled" centers on a Miami businesswoman who is transferred to rural Minnesota, and while she is there she re-evaluates her big-city values. Jones will play the best friend to Zellweger's character.

Jones will star on Fox's upcoming half-hour comedy "Unhitched," from the Farrelly brothers. Her film credits include "Life in Flight," "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men" and "Little Black Book."
