Michael Clarke Duncan will star in comedy troupe Broken Lizard's fifth film, "The Slammin' Salmon." Pic sees Broken Lizard returning to its indie roots. The band of comedians raised financing, wrote the screenplay and will co-star in the movie. Kevin Heffernan makes his directorial debut on the feature, which began shooting this week in Los Angeles. Broken Lizard's Richard Perello is producing; Julia Dray and Peter E. Lengyel exec produce. Duncan, best known for dramatic roles in "The Green Mile," "Planet of the Apes" and "Sin City," took a comedic turn in last year's Will Ferrell starrer "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."
