Synopsis: HBO Films’ Life Support, stars Oscar® nominee and platinum-selling recording artist Queen Latifah (Chicago, the upcoming theatrical release Hairspray) in a moving and candid performance as a mother, former drug addict and AIDS activist in a Brooklyn community. Life Support is executive produced by Oscar®-winning actor Jamie Foxx (Ray) and directed by Nelson George (HBO’s Everyday People), who co-wrote the film with Jim McKay and Hannah Weyer (HBO’s Angel Rodriguez) based on the life of his sister and their family

Life Support uses a mix of actors and real people from the HIV/AIDS community to tell the story of HIV-positive Ana Wallace (Latifah), who channels her energy and regret over her past drug addiction into working for Life Support – an AIDS outreach group. While her obsessive passion for her job puts her health at risk, her stubbornness threatens to drive her already fractured family away. Forced to confront her past mistakes and the possibility of losing her daughter, Wallace learns a poignant lesson about loving, losing and letting go. Seen through the eyes of a survivor, Life Support serves as an inspiring, personal and timely look at the effect the HIV/AIDS crisis has on the African-American community.
