Rapper Fabolous and R & B singer Keyshia Cole star in film produced by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld

While attending the opening "Blackout" at the The Urbanworld Film Festival, Robert Yasim Wright spoke with blackfilm.com and he mentioned that he will directing his first feature called "On The Hood Dies Young". His lead stars in the film is rapper Fabolous and R & B singer Keyshia Cole, and that fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld is the executinve produce.

What is the story about?

Robert Yasim Wright: The story is about a young man whose social dynamics and whirlwinded into the drug life, being that his economic disadvantage situation via his mother's drug addiction. He has a love interest, his girlfriend, which will be played by Keyshia Cole. It's a cautionary tale and depicts a generation that's lost. Fabolous is the main character, Jeffrey Green.

When do you start shooting?

RYW: We'll start shooting in the middle of October in South Jamaica, Queens

RYW: It was a blessing to get Karl Lagerfeld involved because he's huge. He loved the story. He said the drug problem is global, and that it's not limited. In writing the story, I created a situation that explains the behavior as opposed to just the behavior itself. I wanted to explain the behavior of the disadvantage youth.
