Djimon Hounsou is attached to star in the drama "The Trunk," which Sylvain White is slated to direct. The Oscar-nominated actor ("In America") will play an aspiring concert pianist who fights to escape the ghetto as his jealous friends try to hold him back. Brian White, Boris Kodjoe and Thomas Kretschmann are attached as co-stars on the film, scheduled to begin filming by December in Oakland. Bryan Turner's Melee Entertainment is producing the project from Joseph A. Elmore Jr.'s script. Kodjoe, White and Melee's Scott Aronson and Melina Kevorkian are set as producers.

Sylvain White's next feature, Stomp The Yard, featuring Columbus Short and Meagan Good, opens next January 2007 and he recently directed "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer", which is currently out on DVD.

Hounsou will star along with Leonardo DiCaprio in "Blood Diamond", which hits theaters this December.
