Feb. 16, 2006

PRODUCTION UNDERWAY ON NANCY DREW, STARRING EMMA ROBERTS, JOSH FLITTER, MAX THIERIOT AND TATE DONOVAN, FOR WARNER BROS. PICTURES AND JERRY WEINTRAUB PRODUCTIONS

Production commenced Monday, January 30 in Los Angeles on the family mystery adventure Nancy Drew, starring Emma Roberts (Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous), Josh Flitter (The Greatest Game Ever Played), Max Thieriot (The Pacifier) and Tate Donovan (Good Night, and Good Luck.). The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Based on characters created by Carolyn Keene, Nancy Drew follows Nancy (Emma Roberts) as she accompanies her father Carson (Tate Donovan) to Los Angeles on one of his business trips and stumbles across evidence about a long-unsolved crime involving the mysterious death of a beautiful movie star. Nancy’s resourcefulness and personal responsibility are put to the test when she finds herself in the middle of the fast-living, self-indulgent world of Hollywood.

Max Thieriot stars as Nancy’s hometown boyfriend Ned and Josh Flitter as her new friend and fellow Hollywood Hills High School student Corky.

Produced by Jerry Weintraub (Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve), the film is directed by Andrew Fleming (Dick, The Craft) from a screenplay by Tiffany Paulsen and Fleming. Susan Ekins serves as executive producer. Co-produced by Cherylanne Martin. The production team includes director of photography Alexander Gruszynski, A.S.C., production designer Tony Fanning, editor Jeff Freeman and costume designer Jeffrey Kurland.

Nancy Drew is scheduled for a 2007 worldwide release from Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
