Newell Media Group, Inc. Joins Forces with Clanagan Media Group's
Codeblack Entertainment

Former Partners Reunite to Build Premier Independent Home Entertainment
Studio

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Jan. 16, 2006 – Newell Media Group
announced today that it has merged its entertainment operations with
Sherman Oaks, Ca based Codeblack Entertainment.
This merger reunites former partners Quincy Newell and Jeff Clanagan
who are responsible for
the success of Ventura Distribution subsidiary, UrbanWorks Entertainment,
the #1 independent
producer and distributor of urban home entertainment. Under their leadership UrbanWorks
grew
to command a 47% market share of the domestic urban home video sell-through
market among
independents and an astounding 7% market share among major studios.
Jeff Clanagan calls the merger with Newell Media Group, “an important
strategic step for
Codeblack Entertainment.” “The experience that Quincy
brings is an essential ingredient
to our company’s future success. I am glad that he is now part
of the Codeblack team.”
The union allows the duo to leverage their collective
strengths and experiences in urban entertainment. This partnership also
expands the capabilities of Codeblack Entertainment providing
a vertically integrated service capability that includes strategic business
consulting, original production and worldwide audio and visual content distribution
and management. Newell Media Group’s entertainment operations
will be folded into Codeblack and operate under the Codeblack Entertainment
banner. In this new arrangement, Newell becomes equity partner
in Codeblack Entertainment and assumes the post of Executive Vice President/General
Manager for the company.

Newell brings to the company 15+ years experience in the entertainment
business with stints at a

video and recorded music and
has held a range of senior management positions in marketing, project
management, and
business development. In particular, Newell has worked extensively
in the development and
growth of the urban market business segment for these organizations.
