Morrissey & Elba Joining The Reaping

Idris Elba (HBO's The Wire) and David Morrissey are joining Hilary Swank in The Reaping for Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures.

The story centers on a university professor (Swank) who debunks miracles. She is summoned to a small Louisiana town by a man (Morrissey) to investigate a series of bizarre occurrences that appear to be the 10 biblical plagues. Swank begins to fall for Morrissey but soon learns that he is not all that he appears.

Elba will play a scientist and Swank's partner. Elba will next be seen this Fall in Sony Pictures' The Gospel.
Dark Castle and Chime Films are co-financing the film, while Joel Silver, Robert Zemekis, Susan Levin and Herb Gains are producing.
