New Line has signed Director Angela Robinson (Herbie: Fully Loaded) to co-write and direct the action comedy "Genbot", which she pitched with co-writer Alex Kondracke.

The story concerns a young woman who finds herself embroiled in a secret government operation that turns her into a cyborg.

Robinson has a first-look deal at Disney, but ended up taking this project, which is darker than most Disney fare, to New Line.
