Walt Disney Pictures has bought Blowback, an original action-comedy pitch, from screenwriter Sheldon Turner, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Ryan Reynolds attached to star. Turner will write the script.

Johnson's last film, Be Cool, is currently on DVD and will be starring in 'Doom", coming to theates on October 21. He is currently shooting Sony's "Gridiron Gang".

The film is to be based on Megan Stack's Los Angeles Times article "Dispatches From Dharan," which told of the families of Aramco workers in Saudi Arabia after their lives were disrupted by Islamic terrorists who kidnap and murder foreign workers.

Tapestry Films' Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams and Robert Levy will produce. Jonathon Komack Martin of Dark Trick Films, Ryan Reynolds production company, will also produce.

Reynolds co-starred in "Blade: Trinity" and "The Amityville Horror". He next will be seen in Lions Gate Films' Waiting and New Line Cinema's Just Friends.
