Los Angeles, CA (June 2005) – Actor/comedian Eddie Griffin
(Undercover Brother, John Q), Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill) and Breckin
Meyer (Road Trip ) star in the high octane drama BLAST, debuting
on DVD July 19, 2005 from First Look Home Entertainment and DEJ
Productions Inc. This fast-paced thrillride also stars Grammy
Award-winning Reggae superstar Shaggy and Vinnie Jones (Snatch,
Gone in 60 Seconds). BLAST will be available for $24.98 SRP

In BLAST, Griffin portrays former Navy Seal Lamont Dixon, a man
who thought he left his days of combat behind when he became a tugboat
captain assigned to tow an offshore oil rig. But trouble
erupts violently when a group of well-armed mercenaries overpower
the crew and seize the oil rig just off the California coast.
Outnumbered, outgunned and all but out of time, Lamont must defend
himself while dealing with the very unwanted assistance of Jamal
Wilkes (Meyer) the oil rigs techno-geek. Amusing, annoying,
and inventive, Jamal may also be an undercover mole for the bad
guys. With the help of FBI agent Lisa Reed (Fox) coordinating
the counter-attack from shore, it's sink or swim, as Lamont tries
to save the hostages and defuse the deadly plan before it is too
late for them all.
