9th URBANWORLD FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2005 WINNERS
Winners Celebrated at Festival’s Closing
Awards Brunch on June 26
(New York, NY)—The 9th Annual Urbanworld
Film Festival today announced the winners for feature, documentary,
short film, screenplay and music video categories. The
five day festival was held June 22-26 in New York City; wrapping
up on Sunday, June 26 with a closing awards brunch to congratulate
the competition’s winners. Urbanworld, which screened 71
films this year, is the largest internationally competitive festival
dedicated to the exhibition of independent cinema by and about
people of color.

Highlights of The 9th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival include
the opening night premiere of Roll Bounce (starring
Bow Wow, Chi McBride, Meagan Good and directed by Malcolm Lee)
and the closing night screening of Hustle & Flow (starring
Terrence Howard, Anthony Anderson and produced by John Singleton),
as well as special screenings of RIZE (directed by David
LaChapelle) and Animal (starring Ving Rhames).

its support at the 2005 festival as the Founding Sponsor and
