Laurence Fishburne is set to join Paul Walker in the film adaptation
of "The Death and Life of Bobby Z" for Millennium Films,
Blue Collar Films and Eclectic Pictures reports Production Weekly.
Based on the first novel by Don Winslow ("A Cool Breeze on
the Underground"), Doug Aarniokoski will helm the feature
with production scheduled for a September start. Bob Krakower
and Allan Lawrence adapted the screenplay.
The $23 million project is the story of an ex-marine and current
convict (Walker) who is given a second chance when a DEA agent
(Fishburne) makes him an offer he can't refuse: a full pardon
if he agrees to impersonate recently deceased surfer-drug dealer
Bobby Z. Once the inevitable double crosses begin, Tim is lined
up in the cross-hairs of a dozen rifles, all with conflicting
agendas except one: Kill Bobby Z.
