DVD Releases

Females dominate this week's DVD releases as a slew of them represent a romantic film, a thriller, an adolescent film, and a TV reality show. Neema Barnette's tale of unjust law displayed at a woman's prison comes to the video store as Civil Brand stars LisaRaye, N'Bushe Wright, Monica Calhoun, & Mos Def. Together again, but this time as Westerners seeking vengeance on a friend's murder, LisaRaye and Monica Calhoun star in Gang of Roses. While her sister Naomi Watts struggles with her husband leaving her, Kate Hudson looks for love in Le Divorce. Evan Rachel Wood stars as a teenager trying to fit in with the wrong crowd in Thirteen. The film also stars Holly Hunter, who was rewarded with an Oscar nomination for her performance. Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie's TV reality show, The Simple Life, comes to the video circuit after just a few weeks after ending its first season on TV. As the lone male film, Cuba Gooding Jr. plays the true story of an impaired man whose will to fit in with society caught the attention one town in South Caroline in Radio.
