December 2002
Week of December 20th thru December 27th

One Band,

One Man,

One Day

This is probably the first time that there has been 3 extraordinary films directed by African-Americans in the month of December. Drumline, directed by Charles Stone III, paved the way last weekend by having the highest grossing average per theater. In his first outing as a director, Denzel Washington guides the electrifying Derek Luke in Antwone Fisher, a powerful and uplifting film. And Spike Lee is back with a bold, powerful, and dramatic film with 25th Hour. Go out and support three great films by 3 gifted directors.

Till next time,
the blackfilm.com crew
