8 Miles and Running

COMING SOON

In March 2001, Eminem blazed the cover page of blackfilm.com as we recognized the amazing entertainment power that he and Dr. Dre had created with g-funk beats and lyrics that make people cringe. With Eminem's albums exploding with numbers measuring 8 times platinum and the lyrical muscle to back it up, the rap community does have a gem in Eminem.

This weekend, the Dee-Troit raised Marshall Mathers makes his screen debut in 8 Mile and millions of movie-goers whether they admit it or not will be sneaking into theaters this weekend to see what the lil boy wonder can do on the silver screen. Word has it that he holds it down. With this type of success, Dr. Dre is also poised to take over as this generations Quincy Jones. We can only sit and wait for the next Dr. Dre protégé to walk the 8 Mile to fame. Big things only from Dre and Em. From the words of the most infamous lyrical banger Tupac, "Do your thang Boy - I ain't mad at ya."

Till next time,
the blackfilm.com crew
