OH YES THAT DJ MADE MY DAY
	The blackfilm.com crew is dedicated to the mission of film. But today this page must be dedicated to one of the Godfathers of the hip-hop generation, JAM MASTER J. For some unknown reason, the icon was gunned down in his Queens recording studio. The shooter has not been caught. How could a DJ, two rappers and Adidas three-stripes start a cultural revolution? In the 1980's, Run DMC crashed the once guarded musical gates of international stardom with Jam Master J making heads bops from 818 to 212. Their music is legendary, as well as their NYC style that fueled a revolution in the urban shopping malls throughout the world. The violence that exists today is reaching a dangerous levels. In the hip-hop nation, after Tupac Shakur and the Notorious BIG, certainly we all imagined that no other rap icon would die by the bullet. Unfortunately, since their deaths, Big L, Freaky Tah, and now Jam Master Jay have met their fates at the barrel of a gun. Maybe rappers need to start considering their lyrics? Or perhaps, we should all recognize that many that live among us consider killing as easy as opening a new cd? Whatever the case, it's definitely time for the entertainment community as a whole, to take a deep, close look at what's happening. There is the possibility that the gunmen didn't now he was killing one of the Godfathers of rap. More importantly, he simply killed a human being that had given a lot to the world yet had his own life snubbed out in a millisecond. May the healing begin.
