HAPPY HOLIDAYS

What an interesting and promising year for African Americans in cinema & entertainment. Will Smith was awarded the role of a lifetime, Denzel flipped the script on his usual good-guy character, Halle Berry is amazing in "Monsters Ball," and other young black stars received plenty of playtimes. On television, Bernie Mac and Damon Wayans are doing a fine job of representing different types of African American families. While SAG numbers are still low, we are looking forward to a better tomorrow for everyone. Music was ambushed by the talented Alicia Keyes, our music partner, DJ Fink, snagged a billboard award, and Michael Jackson resurfaced to let us all know a little something about showmanship. If we can get Nas & Jigga to chill, 2001 could end peacefully and we can all enter 2002 with a positive vibe and respect for each other. We hope.

The blackfilm.com crew is poised to enter 2002 with a commitment to serving you better with more information, more screenings and more fun. We sincerely appreciate all of your e-mails, suggestions and participation at our events. We cannot do this without your support. Thank you.

Till next week,
